Sac-Base has shown that they will compete this season no matter what opponents and fans think about them. In a previous post we brought to light the perception players of Sac-Base felt people had about them. In recent times they had a four game losing streak but someway somehow Sac-Base was able to get back in winning ways. They won their match yesterday against Star One. The win has Sac-Base reclaiming the 6th and final position for the second round.
Fred Smith step up his game in this win. The small forward exerted leadership role knowing that a lost would kill any hope of making it out of the first round.
F. Smith lead all scorers with 25PTS, 4ASTS. F. Smith was 11 of 13 from the field and made 3 of his 5 shots from the line. highlight of day was a fast-break Statue of Liberty throw down. He got a lot of help from his team mates on defense. D. Jallah was a rim protector with 5REBS, 4BLKS. L. Knowleden also had 5PTS, 4ASTS. M. Davies also contributed 9PTS, 3ASTS.

Star One, with the lost are not in the second round. The lost has squandered any chance they had to make it through. First factor to their defeat was coming into such a crucial match under man. At jumpball they were only eight players dressed to play.
T. Keah tried to get things going for the team but it seems he was the only one making bucket on this day. T. Keah lead his team with 22PTS, 4ASTS. Shooting 10 of 14 from the field and made two of his five attempts from the free throw line.
In the second D2 match of the day, Bong Shooters fell short of a victory. They competed and fought their way in order to get a win to better improve on their chances for the next round. E. Wongan of Bong Shooters led all scorers despite the lost with 17PTS. He was helped by L. Banks who contributed 11PTS, 3ASTS.
Bong Shooter had the last possession in the fourth quarter to either take the lead or go to the line to tie the score from a free throw. With less then 15SECS on the clock and the ball in their possession, from a side line, their out-of-bound play was not successful as the ball was turn over before they could take the last shot. The lost has deepened their woes of making to the second round. They will have to wait for what transpire in the match between Monrovia Rockets and Sac-Base.

It has been a franchise record for the Du Runners team. Since they entered the second division league in the Liberian Basketball league. This is their first time making it to the playoffs season.
