Emmanuel Paye, NPA Pythons

NPA Pythons had to dig deep to get rid of LPRC Oilers. It was one of the games for the ages. NPA Pythons who won all of their regular season games going 9-0 in the first round, are currently still unbeaten in the second round.

NPA Pythons won their first two games against Harbel Pointers and Bushrod Bulls. LPRC Oilers was coming off of a surprise victory over Mighty Barrolle. The victory was a sweet revenge from the lost which they suffered in the hands of Mighty Barrolle in the first round.

LPRC Oilers started hot in the first quarter with Samuel Kpannie going three for three from behind the arc. NPA Pythons had to make adjustment from the 2nd quarter onward to slow him down and it worked to some extent.

LPRC Oilers maintained the lead for most part of the game until NPA Pythons took it briefly in the final two minutes of the game. A costly turn over by A. Petros of NPA Pythons was converted by LPRC Oilers who regain the lead with five seconds on the clock.

This lead to an immediate timeout by NPA Pythons.

With 5secs on the game clock, it seems most attention was given to A. Yakubu who was 3 of 9 from distance. It was E. Paye who got the inbound play, drove it towards the freethrow line and hit a floater with only a second left on the clock.

This sent the crowd into a frenzy who stormed the floor. It took almost five minutes to clear the floor for play to resume.

NPA Pythons not taking any chance was able to closeout on S. Davidson who fire a shot but not before the final buzzer.

Emmanuel Paye was the hero for today but did get a lot of help from his team mates as well. See box score below for full game stats.
