Monrovia Blazers Overcomes Sac-Base 76-60

Sac-Base is one of the young teams to watch out for in the next season of the LBA D2. They play for the fans and seems to give them just what they want, exciting basketball.

Monrovia Blazers came ready to compete. It was a last minute decision from the administration of the team to have them take part. Days to the opening of the tournament, an official of the club posted their unpreparedness but within moments had retracted, giving their approval for the team participation.

Liberiabasketball.com was excited to see that the team was better prepared for the knock-out. Evidence compared to their closing match of the 2020/2021 league.

S. Wallace aka Sniper, skipper for the team started with a strong first quarter. Sinking a three on his way to scoring 9pts of his team 19pts. He contributed 18pts in his team 76-60 win.

K. Levi scored 17pts for Sac-Base. He was very active from the get go. His inexperience did get hold of him couple of plays. Overall, competing against such a senior team, lessons can be learnt.

The highlight for the night was a dunk from the Sac-Base team in the third quarter! The game had to be stopped as the rim had gone out of alignment.

With the win, all is set for Monrovia Blazers to meet D2 Champions, Raiders.

Raiders gained qualification through a a forfeit win as Monrovia Pistons did not turn up for their match. Liberiabasketball.com later learnt that although the players were in full attendance, officials for the team had left their jersey in Monrovia.
