At the end of the game, many fans where still at a crossroad whether both teams played poorly or it was a hard fought battle. Others are still of the notion that Harbel Pointers once again executing badly. While another group does not see what Mighty Barrolle really has to dethrone NPA Pythons as the champion. The fans remain divided on this one!

The open air mecca of basketball in Liberia, Sports Commission was jam packed to capacity. There was not a single place you could stand or sit without someone telling you to twist a little cause you were blocking them.

“It took me long to leave the top stairs to the ground,” a fan lamented. “You have to tell everyone excuse before you can pass”

Yes, not even a footpath for spectators to find their way around to and fro from their seats.

That is how hyped the event has been made to be. Fans of Harbel Pointers wanting to see their side revenge the lost they suffered at the hands of NPA Pythons just about two days ago.

From the jump-ball, Mighty Barrolle put up a thirteen (13) points run between they and Harbel Pointers. It was an early 13-0 start that became a ditch to climb out from. It was clear that this just might be an early collapse of the Tapper Boys.

F. Fayiah, Mighty Barrolle

Francis Fayiah and Bashir Bella were the duo in the flesh of Harbel Pointers. Both combined to score 12PTS in the first quarter.Francis Fayiah would close the day with 13PTS, making 5 of 9 attempts from the field and all three of his free throws. Bashir Bella shot 46.2% from the field. Sinking 6 of 13 from the field. He shot woefully from the line, making just 2 of 12 which is 16.7%. Bashir ended the game with 14PTS, 8REB.

Then Mighty Barrolle went flat. And flat they remained the rest of the game. Harbel Pointers was able to crawl back into the quarter closing the gap and ending the Q1 10-17.

O. Samba, Mighty Barrolle

Q2 was a dig dong affair. Both sides struggled to get their offense running. Especially import Omar Samba of Mighty Barrolle. It was his worst game since arrival. The 6’10” Senegalese was missing jumper six feet from the rim. He scored 7PTS for the night shooting 2 of 12 from the field. He was successful in converting three of his free throws. He would sit out majority of the second half due to coach decision.

Mighty Barrolle went into the half leading 27-20. A fan who had just enter the venue asked if it was the end of the first quarter. On knowing that it was half time, one could see the dejection in his face. “This game, Barrolle will not reach seventy points,” he was heard saying.

Harbel Pointers needed a leader but a search saw no one. And perhaps that is what this team lacks, a leadership role by one of their own on the floor. One who will be able to direct and have his peers follow.

A glimpse of hope came in the third  minute remaining in the third quarter, Harbel Pointers tieing the score after a jumper from James Luke Garlo bringing it at 33PTS apiece. That was the defining moment of the game, but costly turn overs and poor shooting had them fall back and Mighty Barrolle Bashir Bella score on the next two possession in the paint.

J. Baker scored four of his 8PTS in the fourth quarter.  No Harbel Pointer player was in the double figure tonight.

M. Ahmed, Mighty Barrolle

Meanwhile, Ahmed of Mighty Barrolle came up big in the final 90SEC. With Harbel Pointers in the penalties, he made 5 of his 8 free throw attempts. That was enough along with the two made free throw attempts by captain of the day, R. Doley.
